Rewilding Observation Facility

ARC 207 - Final Project

The “Rewilding Observation Facility” is a design prompted by the idea of Half Earth by E.O.. Wilson — where the entire human population is concentrated into the major cities and the other half of all land, is allowed to re-wild, to run feral. Though political and the philosophical ideas of the Half Earth Socialism were considered, the intent of the project is to design an observation facility measuring the process of rewilding in the Hudson Highland State Park, as is land already protected — but only for recreation of human rather than one of animal habitat.
